Aeroplane Question Bank

Without doubt, this is the most difficult theoretical knowledge exam to pass. One of the problems of having an exam with only 12 questions is that you can only get 3 questions wrong to enable a pass and this exam has more than its fair share of "catch you out" questions.

If you have already attempted any CAA PPL exams you will be aware that many of the CAA exam questions are poorly written, using confusing and ambigious phraseology and poor grammer, but what's worse is that some of the exam questions are deliberately misleading and often have more than one correct answer, making them difficult to pass without a little help.
Our experience shows that 7 or 8 of the questions you are likely to encounter
are fairly simple and can be answered by applying common sense, such as ...
"how will the aircrate rate of climb be affected if the weight of the aircraft in increased"
...the answer being a heavier aircraft will experience a reduced rate of climb which makes sense and is fairly straightforward. However ... 4 or 5 of the CAA exam questions will require reference to a workbook which is provided to calculate take-off and landing performance and factorise such things that will affect the aircraft performance such as the wind, runway surface and slope etc.
This is the only CAA exam where students often run out of time and one of the really unfair aspects of this exam ... regardless of which aircraft you are learning to fly in, you are expected to calculate both Piper and Cessna performance.
Cessna take-off and landing performance is fairly simple for pilots as the information is tabulated, but Piper performance calculations are far more complicated with pilots having to follow complex routes through multiple graphs, which unless you are familiar with, can lead to inaccurate or incorrect results, along with immense exam stress.

The easiest and fastest way to prepare for and pass your PPL exams is by practicing the real thing.
The CAA also make fuel calculations and weight & balance calculations far more difficult than they need to be, by mixing datums on order to deliberately "catch students out"
Below is a good example of a simple question that has been made far more difficult than it needs to be.
The easypasspplexams team have produced a series of practice exams that mirrors the same format, wording and phraseology as the genuine CAA e‑exams with the same number of questions and exam time allocation.
